Gargoyle Hotel

Strange dream of gargoyle infested apartment complex ... they are scratching at the door of my room, thirteenth floor ... I break through the wall into another room, stumbling upon naked glistening oriental pantomime girls ... mildly erotic ... gargoyles scraping screeching the chase is on ... smash through a window, employ curtain as rope ... reaching outside ledge, slide down drainpipe countless stories to ground ... confronted by apocalyptic scene of universal graveyards ... as far as the eye can see, tombstones, crosses, vaults, sepulchres ... as if the entire population of The City had been annihilated ... wait ... group of ragged chanting elderly men hover slowly through destroyed streets ... a small stooping specimen clutches at my leg with fibrous talon fingers of stretched flesh, muttering some warning premonition - "they don't like you" - or something of the sort ... burning camper in the distance ...

Wake with a permeating feeling of dread and vague vision of epitaph whereon alien inscription lies flashing duller and duller behind the eyes.  Cautiously get out of bed and peek outside, checking for tombstones ...
